Nightlock berries are the poisonous berries that Katniss uses to allow both her and Peeta to win the 74th Games. The berries are infamous for the lethal poisonous juices that are inside. The Nightlock juice functions similarly to potassium cyanide and can kill anyone who eats it instantly. Their name is derived from the toxic nightshade and hemlock, both extremely poisonous plants. It is also the poison pills (also known as Nightlock) that were made by District 13 given to the soldiers in Mockingjay. Wear them around your neck in case of capture by the capitol!
When I’m creating Hunger Games inspired jewelry, I often like to think of myself as if I were creating jewelry for the people of the Capitol. Not only would they be one of the only districts able to afford such a luxury, but I can only imagine them buying trinkets and jewels to show which tribute they are “rooting” for!

“Fire is catching! And if we burn, you burn with us!”
Inspired by the amazing heroine of The Hunger Games (trilogy by Suzanne Collins) this necklace is comprised of a fire-colored Mockingjay wing, adorned with strands of gunmetal chain displaying a pearl and gold leaf. The wing represent Katniss and the revolution she started just by wearing her Mockingjay pin. The colors represent who she becomes, “The Girl On Fire”. The pearl represents Peeta, and the gold leaf represents who Katniss was in the beginning.

“Destroying things is much easier than making them.”
Inspired by the Gamemakers from The Hunger Games (trilogy by Suzanne Collins). The Gamemakers design and control the Hunger Games. They design the arena, the outfits, and a number of the deaths. From the tiniest detail to the biggest bloodbath, the Gamemakers are in charge of entertaining the Capitol to the fullest. A dry and boring Hunger Games means that the head Gamemaker’s life is in peril. A bloody and fantastic Games that keeps the crowd on the edge of their seats brings the Gamemakers fame and fortune. Although the Gamemakers are in charge of the Games, President Snow’s opinion is what matters most.
This necklace is comprised of a gorgeous green and brown agate pendant with beautiful tendrils of clay giving a jungle-vibe inspired by the Quarter Quell arena. Above is a gorgeous dragon vein agate bead. This bead reminds me of the Gamemakers because it looks as if it holds a desert inside of it, and I could imagine them using something like this for inspiration!

“I realize only one person will be damaged beyond repair if Peeta dies. Me.”
Inspired by the amazing heroine of The Hunger Games (trilogy by Suzanne Collins) this necklace is a stylized tribute to the budding romance between Peeta and Katniss. The pearl represents the one Peeta gives Katniss. I created this piece pretending I was making it for a person in the Capitol who was infatuated with keeping up with Peeta and Katniss’ romance, hence why it has gems adorning it and it is made in a rich gold color.

“You don’t forget the face of the person who was your last hope.”
Inspired by the amazing heroine of The Hunger Games (trilogy by Suzanne Collins) this necklace is comprised of a gold-colored Mockingjay, placed on top of a gorgeous agate slab. The Mockingjay is the main symbol of the revolution that Katniss and Peeta start. I imagine the people of the capitol commissioning a piece like this - with a want to display something of Katniss’ with a more expensive look!

“Destroying things is much easier than making them.”
Inspired by Seneca Crane from The Hunger Games (trilogy by Suzanne Collins). Seneca Crane was the Head Gamemaker of the 74th Hunger Games, but made the fatal mistake of letting both Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark survive as victors in the Games. Because of this President Snow had him strangled in public. Later in the 75th Hunger Games, when the Gamemakers were evaluating tributes, as Katniss Everdeen’s surprising practice round, she hanged a dummy with a noose she made, and painted the words Seneca Crane with berry juice on its chest.
This necklace is comprised of a wire encased, large, Dragon’s Vein agate bead with beautiful amber seed beads haloing the top. This bead reminds me of Seneca Crane because it looks as if it holds a desert inside of it. The Head Gamemaker is in charge of creating the atmosphere for the Hunger Games, and I could imagine them using something like this for inspiration!
